Welcome

This website is a tribute to Colonel Edward T. Imparato, his work in the US Military during World War II, and his books about his Air Force experiences.

He was one of the youngest Full Colonels promoted by General Douglas MacArthur, under whom he served, attaining that rank at the age of  27.

He was a commercial and instructor pilot in civilian life before entering military service. In the US Army Air Forces and later in the US Air Force he was troop carrier certified, a test and command pilot, as well as a commander and specialist in all phases of airborne operations and logisitics.

His initial work in WW II was in paratroop transport operations and one of his proudest accomplishments was the command of the 374th Troop Carrier Group in the Pacific near the end of World War II. This supported MacArthur's return to the Philippines. His military flying career concluded as Deputy Chief of Staff of the Caribbean Air Command in Panama.
